Google Business Profile setup

Your Google Business Profile is what shows up when someone searches for your trade on Google Maps. We need the details below to set it up properly and get it verified. It takes about 10 minutes. Your answers save on this device as you go, so you can come back to it.

Business details

Part 1 of 3

Exactly as it appears on your van, signage and invoices. Google suspends profiles that add extra words like towns or services to the name, so please keep it to the real name only.

Google verifies this address, usually by video call or a postcard. If you work from home, that is fine. We can hide it and show your service areas instead.

Do customers come to this address?

The number you want customers to ring. It should be answered during your working hours.

An inbox you check every day. Google sends verification messages and new review alerts here.

If Trade Tech is building your new site, put your current one or write "Trade Tech building".

Opening hours and working days To do

The hours you take calls and enquiries. Tick closed for any day you do not work.

Google shows this as your opening date. A month and year is ideal, the year on its own is fine.

Location and service areas

Part 2 of 3

Google lets you list up to 20 areas. Put the ones you most want work from first. Postcode districts like TN34 or BN1 work well.

Services and categories

Part 3 of 3

The work that brings in most of your money. We use this to pick your main Google category, which has the biggest effect on where you show up.

Everything else you are happy to take on. These become extra categories and your services list.

Send it to us

When you are done, tap Send. Your answers come straight to the Trade Tech team, and we will let you know when Google asks for verification.
